All,

It is that time of year and I am happy to announce that the Western Ontario Chapter of the VMOA is again hosting the Spring Ice Breaker. This is our 5th installment of this event. To keep things fresh we have moved the ride to Port Dover, Ontario on the North shore of Lake Erie this year. For those who don't know Port Dover holds events every Friday the 13th that attract tens of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from all around North America and beyond. This makes this area very biker friendly for us to hold an event. Attached is a flyer for the ride and we would like to extend an invitation to one and all to come on up and have some fun with us!

Sadly, they are booked at a previously scheduled event. :bang head:
It would be great if we could get all the Vmax guys from Ontario, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana to show up. :thumbs up:

UPDATE!!! Due to popular demand we have added a second hotel to the Ice Breaker. Contact:

Angelo's of Port Dover

Tell them that you are coming to the VMOA event June 4-6th (staying the 4th & 5th), and if the person gets confused ask for Jackie as she is the Manager who helped set this up. Rooms are going fast folks and finding alternate lodging in the Port Dover area can be difficult at best.

Also, we are having our Saturday night dinner at the Erie Beach Hotel this year. All you can eat Lake Erie Pickerel, chicken, salads, coffee, dessert, etc. (you pay for alcoholic beverages) for $24.99 + taxes/person. Normally we would have a BBQ, but this year we wanted to do something a bit different.

Hope to see a lot of you there!!!

Eh Everyone

Mr. Bill here. Just a few quick notes about the Ice breaker Weekend. I am giving Jim a hand to get this together because I live about 10 min. from Port Dover. There are next to no rooms availabe in nearby Simcoe for our weekend, apparently Spring weddings are big the first week of June.

We have rooms booked at the Erie Beach Hotel & at Angelo's Hotel in Port Dover.

Erie Beach rooms might be described as small done in earily 50's or 60's decor. The rooms are near the beach, clean and priced not bad. The rooms here are quieter and are bit larger than those at Angelo's Hotel. There is one large suite available with a view. The rooms are above where we will have dinner Saturday night. The Erie Beach all you can eat pickrel and chicken dinner is fantastic. There is a large casual bar on the main floor.

Angelo's Hotel is located on the main street in the center of Port Dover. Angelo's rooms may be described as early western motif crossed with a biker bar hotel. Again the rooms are very clean and small with a few unusual bed combinations in the rooms. The rooms again are all above the bar. The bar is a great spot to unwind, very laid back. There is an outside patio, big screen TV, shuffle board, food served and live entertainment both Friday and Saturday night. Parking at the rear for the bikes is sort of private as well. Did I mention that we have all of the rooms in the place. The rooms at Angelo's are cheaper but will have more noise with the bar and live band being right below the rooms.

Angelo's advertizes " the best breakfast in Port Dover" for Saturday and Sunday mornings.

It looks like we will do the lakeshore road for our Saturday morning ride. Lots of twisties, a few small towns, small hamlets and a few wide open long stretches to clean out the carbon. About 1:45 hours each way with a few stops along the way. It is a great bike route.

Hope to see everyone there. It looks like we are going to have a great turn out this year. You should get your rooms booked soon there are not many rooms available in the area for overflow. If we fill all of the rooms up don't worry we will find a place for everyone to lay their head. If you call and the rooms are all gone contact me and we will find you something.

Lets all hope for a sunny weekend!!

Later

Dang it, that is the same weekend I am getting the roof done on my house. Oh well, Maybe Next year...

This'll break your heart, Jim, but I there's a big outage at the power plant until the first week of July so I'll miss Icebreaker this year. Was looking forward to some lively debate too! LOL!

Cheers!

Damn, there goes the entertainment. Was more thinking along the lines of you and Jimmy S. the homophobe! You tend to freak him out for some unknown reason:rofl_200: Provides me hours of laughter! Knew you would have a hard time attending, as I work at the same facility you do I made sure that your shift schedule aligned up just so:rofl_200: From what I hear you won't even make the 507 ride this year:confused2: Oh well, maybe some other time:ummm:

Yeah, messing with Jimmy S is way easy! Da Man says "no vacation" , "no banked time" until the outage ends in July. Boss even said he and said he doesn't even want us calling in sick (good luck with that!). I'll miss a few rides but it'll give me some weekend equity for some other events like maybe the 2nd Annual Pizza Run!

Have a safe and fun Icebreaker!

Cheers!

Blaine
