88 Brake upgrade

I want to upgrade my front brakes to 4 piston calipers or even the R1 with the 93> rotors though I've just bought brand new master cylinders. Will the existing 1988 master cylinder be OK to use with the 4 pot calipers, or the R1 calipers or would I have to change the master cylinder too??

You can use the stock master with the brake caliper upgrade.

I did the R1 mod on my 89, upgraded the rotors and calipers on front without any troubles.
You just need to find the adapter for the new calipers.

IMO >your better off talking to Sean(one2dmax) about upgrading to the busa calipers versus the R1. The adaptors are much cheaper and the R1 has 4 pot, the busa has 6pot.

I agree with Bill, If I had to do it now I will go for that even if the R1 update is already not that bad. It might have been better and cheaper.

That time he was selling the adapters on ebay.
