Im thinking I may go with the EarthX batt that Sean carries. Its the only lithium batt that I've found that has the over/under voltage protection. Which I dont know why the other lithium batt. dont have if its that sensitive to voltage drop.

Me either. I will put a switch on the the usb port, & I'm still swapping out older style r/r for R1 style. The the shorai battery will only charge to 6.8 volts, & as soon I take off the charger it discharges to 0.

You guys using the pc680 battery, whats the spec on it, cca
The Odyssey PC680 has 520 HCA for 5 seconds and 170 CCA:

Personally, I'm going to buy a 22 Ah/420 CCA UB12220 if my current UB12180 (18 Ah - 283 CCA) ever dies (it's over 7 years old now and still going strong):

I don't drag race my max so I don't see any reason to spend the extra $100 or so on a light weight battery.

That is a great price, will that fit in the batt box without mod the box

Yes it will.
It's the same size as my current UB12180 but has higher Ah and CCA.

You're welcome.
I know at least a few guys here have bought the UB12220 and are happy with it.

Yes it can, because your USB device works off of 5 volts. Your bike runs on 12 volts, so you need a voltage converter to bring it down, (that little black box connected in line with the MiniUSB connector). If that's connected to a non-switched connection to the battery, it will slowly drain it without the engine / alternator running.

Good information to know....thanks! :worthy:

Your right, their finicky and expensive, I also did the R/R change to a Mosfet.
The main thing Id like to say about Shorai is that when I called to explain the problem,
that by the way I caused, the rep said in our conversation that a new battery was "in the air to me" as we spoke.
I was told to pick-up a prepaid label from Fed-ex and send back the bad one' two days later I had a new one. Excellent Service!!!!
They are weird about the complete discharge but Iv seen the "come back" after a discharge
and perform as normal.
I suppose it would be up to you as to weather or not you'd be apt to trust it after that.

Well I finally found some time & installed the UB12220 & R1 R/R that I got off of Jagco1. Man 14.5 vdc, haven't seen those numbers in a while. Hopefully this batt will last me 10yrs.

Man don't be lazy. You can do better than that. Your bike deserves a better RR bracket

Looks great Larry, I mounted mine a little farther forward on to the plastic panels for the stock electrics. I'm not a 100% happy with where it is so I may add that to winter mods list, at least mount it a little more professionally. I hate having a empty mounting hole!
