scoop

Is there anyway to repair this? Not real excited about spending $300 for a new one.

I recently bought a set of Gen2 style scoops and have been looking across the net for insert/grills with not much luck. They need to be 3" diameter. let me know if anybody has come across them

On my '97 I've noticed some rough spots showing up on the scoops. I'm guessing oxidation. Anything to do other than paint them? Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

Looks like a small aftermarket switch, on the left side, just above the left scoop. I haven't messed with it because I have no idea what it is for. I've looked on here to see if on any other bikes, and didn't see any. Any ideas what it could be?

OK, I dumped the bike. Damage was pretty minor overall, but I've got some questions in regards to repair of the motorcycle parts that were damaged. I scraped up the faust scoop a little bit and need some recommendations. is it better to repair (sand and polish out the scrapes) or to replace...

Looking for a 1st gen V-Max Left Air Scoop Please help I cannot find one local :bang head:

Need a LH scoop, color unimportant, just don't want any road rash, clear coat peeling is fine, going to have it powder coated. Let me know what you have, thanks!

Would anyone have an exact drawing (pref in dxf format) of the scoop inlays? We're just finishing a laser cutter over here & need to cut some stuff to test if everything works well, so I thought I might cut some inlays, say 2mm stainless? Depending on how much scrap material I find :biglaugh...

Seems that most of the VMax's I see have no scoop protection from keys. If you use only one key, you don't need something like this. I've got 4 keys on my bike key ring. I've got 3 sets of scoops here , My 94 already has this done to it. So, I did the right scoop of the set I got from...

Does anyone have a Cad file or Drawing...hell even a sketch of the inserts for the air scoops. Im just looking to save a little time here. Guess I could just trace them and get a pretty close templet but just wanted to ask. I have plans for them and dont wanna hack up the stock ones if I can...

I did a search here, but not much came up. I was curious about some custom scoops I've seen, but I didn't come up with anything in searches on the internet. Anybody have a web link they can post here showing some options with prices? Here are some pics I found:

I went to take the left side off and stripped the allen head. It's so tight that it even snapped my easy out tool. What type of drill bit do I need to drill the whole thing out? The gold bits I have won't go through the snapped easy out.

OK I am almost certain these people were out of Wisconsin but I don't have their info anymore and I will need a set of black inlays for my new scoop. Anyone know have info on them?
