Drove back into Texas today after 9 months working in the land of fruits and nuts.
17 hours straight drive thru the night from Stockton Ca into West Texas,
I took these pics out around Sierra Blanca & Van Horn, about 100 miles East of El Paso and about 50 miles from where I grew up.

Wish I still lived on this side of the State and not another 700 miles East on the Carcinogenic Coast.

Notice the speed limit sign
And the other sign too, its a polite way of saying it doesn't matter how fast your going, if someone's is coming up behind you get the fuck out of their way
; )

We could use some of those "Left lane for passing only" signs around here. Bastards just hog the left like they own it.
Glad you made it home safely.

Chris.

Left lane is for passing only regardless if it is posted or not.

What we need is enforcement, not more signs.

I agree.
The other sign you see around Texas is
"Slower Traffic Keep Right"
Notice it doesn't say "slower than the speed limit"

I'll take the 80MPH sign!!

Never seen one of them 'round here........

Unfortunately that is only in one area of Texas. They are testing to see if affects the safety issue. If not, they are planning on expanding the 80 mph limit gradually.

If I remember correctly back in the day Montana had no speed limits on it's major highways, was it the same in Texas?
Oh, glad your back home Rusty, planning on staying a while? You need to get on your beast and ride!:punk:

No. Never had "no speed limit" in Texas that I can remember.

The 80 is in counties of under 100,000 population I think, on federal interstate only. Which gets you about half the state, I-10 from Kerville to El Paso and I-20 from Sierra Blanca to I don't know how far NorthEast.
