To all that have 17's what tires are you using? im not looking for the softest stickiest or the hardest best wearing, looking for something in between. something that doesnt wear prematurely or irregularily due to the vmax weight but sticks well.

What kind of tires are you guys running on your max's? I was looking at Avons. I don't see the front tire size on the sites. It is either 100/90/18 or 120/90/18

Just purchased an '01 Max, and usually my first priority with a used bike is new tires. I've always been prone to either Metzlers or the Dunlop K591 series, but I've been out of the game for several years. Is there a commonly accepted "best" tire for all around duty on the Max?

I am hoping that by the end of the month I will have new rubber on the max. I am leaning towards the shinko's. Is there a break in period for tires or a time period that you should take it easy or are they good to go once mounted? thanks

The manual states to use V rated tires on this bike. I don't plan on riding at sustained speeds of 130+, but I am curious about your opinions as to whether or not an H rated tire will hold up... I would think tire ratings would be conservative, but what do you guys think?

The guy I bought my vmax from said he just put new tires on it, it had 6500 miles on it. Anyway, he said the tires are "H" rated instead of "V" rated. I think "H" rated tires are rated for 130mph and "V" rated are rated for 150 mph. My bike wobbles at 125mph but I don't think its the tires??? I...

Just got my new tires on today. 170 in the rear and 120 up front. Both Metzeler ME880's. Haven't really messed with 'em to much as they're still slick. They really ride good. A lot better than the wore out stock tires:biglaugh:. I'll get a few miles on 'em and see what's up.

i was wondering what you normally run for tire pressure in a stock rim and tire set up. both front and rear!! also do you change pressures later in the year as the weather warm up or just run the same all the time.

I just received a new rear from Ron Ayers and my local dealer wants $40 to mount the tire on the rim, that's just the rim I bring in to them. This seems steep to me what are you guys paying to have a tire mounted?
